The council runs a sheltered housing scheme called Eleonore House, off Grange Road. This has 27 ground and lift assisted first floor flats, In November 2015, fourteen of them were void (52%)

Question: When will any refurbishment work be complicated?

Response from Chief Executive, Northampton Partnership Homes…

Following extensive consultation with the residents of Eleonore House a tender exercise has been completed and a contract has been let which will commence in February 2016. This will be an extended contract undertaken in 2 phases designed to work around the tenants who will remain insitu during the works at their specific request. The reason for the delay was to take the views and requests of tenants on board who wished to remain in the building during the works. The timing of the start of the contract is to ensure we work around tenants and ensure they suffer as little inconvenience as possible. The reason for holding the voids is to enable tenants to move (be decanted) within the scheme.
