50% minimum turnout!

I NOTE that Boris Johnson calling on Number 10 to introduce a rule whereby a minimum turnout of 50 per cent would be required for a strike to be legal.

ANGER

Be interesting to see what local (Northampton) politicians make of a requirement of a 50% turnout for an action to be legal.

Northampton Borough Council is consistently making decisions that affect me and others the turnout for the last (2011) elections was 39.42% with only two wards recording a above 50% turnout.

We council tenants have a portfolio holder for housing who got on to Northampton Borough Council for a ward with a 28.88% turnout
