Rents not collected because properties were unoccupied

Rents not collected because properties were unoccupied

what the fuck

We (Northampton Defend Council Housing) have wrote a number of times about the amount of Council properties that stand unoccupied and the (in our opinion) unacceptable length of time a number of them stand empty.

We have commented about the social cost to people that are on the housing waiting list and the cost to house a number of them in costly and unsuitable bed and breakfast accommodation.

We now look at the cost of rent loss for 2013:

[i]From the first week of January to the last week of July the rent loss was £525,972

THIS period is for 30 weeks giving an average weekly rent loss of £17,532.40
