Northampton Defend Council Housing Void Watch

Are we (NBC) making the best use of the housing stock we currently have?

We have been monitoring this for some time we track the numbers standing empty with no tenants, and no rental income.

We flag up the ones that are NOT let after 60 days.

Current information (as at 7 January 2013) we are showing interest in 36 properties that have been vacant since the 7 November 2012…

We have taken the decision to not publish the full address (i.e. door number) on this occasion.

Prolonging the Misery of the Homeless best describes this, Cllrs & their Fat Cat “Officers [ some who get 100%+ salary rises] up and down the Land should be made Homeless for 6 months, instead of their self-publicity “one nighters”, out of touch, more another planet. i wonder how many other Councils are Prolonging the Misery of the Homeless, expect the usual pen-pushers , predicatable spin, Mr. Adams another point here, had the council housing residents been in Housing Association hands, this post would Never have Existed NO F.O.I Will tweet this to @Shelter @shelterscotland http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2012/mar/08/homelessness-statistics-data

  2. Dear Mr McNabb

Your reference to Housing Associations not being subject to Freedom of Information
    Legislation or public scrutiny.

We (NDCH) have commented on this FACT before (follow the link below)

Had we been Tenants of a Housing Association we would not have been
able to get the information and facts needed to drag the issue out into the light
because Housing Associations are not subject to Freedom of Information
    legislation or public scrutiny.

THAT ALONG WITH ALL THE OTHER REASONS IS WHY WE WILL VOTE
AND MAKE THE CASE TO KEEP THE COUNCIL AS OUR LANDLORD
